2 Weeks in the PICU

Today Jack is again receiving milk from his mommy and is less two of his chest tubes. He sailed through the day relaxing and enjoying his medications. Tonight his heart decided it wanted to beat really fast and although he seems to tolerate it well, it really isn't a good situation for the little guy. The doctors and nurses have been working on it a while but haven't been able to slow it down. It is such a blessing that we have the ability to be here with him in the hospital. Sarah and I have commented on numerous occasions how great it is that we live here in the valley, so close to such excellent care. As we have met others who are in a similar situation, we have thought many times how different our experience would be if we were from out of town. We are so fortunate to have family and friends so close that support us, not to mention work and school that afford the flexibility to continue with our plans amidst the craziness here. Although Jack has more rubber and wire coming out of him than a blown out radial tire, he still is adorable and melts our hearts. Thanks for everything.
